Esbats and Sabbats

The Full moon. The represents the whole entirety of the goddess. The time to draw down the moon. Drawing down the moon is a way to access the Goddess energy, drawling it in to yourself. Or invoking, if you will. Full moons amplify intent and give a boost to power.

The dark of the moon, used primaraly for meditations, banishing, psychic work. Its good for working with stones. Examining past (and or lives) to help with current situations, divination.

Reappearance of the moon. New beginnings, love spells, divination/spells to bring things to light. Rituals of rebirth.

Whial on the topic of moon majick:

Waxing moon: dark to full: growth, beginnings, new starts. new love. Exploring new business ventures, making new friends, new partnerships. Prosperity. Planting herbs. Increasing physical health and well being.

Wanning: full to dark: ending things. to rid yourself of bad habbits, situations, people ect ect removal/ decrease things.

Samhain - I was taught of the three days of Samhain, ending on the 31st of october. On the first day we recognise that we kill plant life, taking from the mother goddess in order to sustain life. On the seccond day, we recognise the animal sacrifice for our lives. On the last day we remember those we have known that have past on to their next incarnation. It is traditional to set an extra place at the table of food, then put it outside. This night is meant as a happy rememberance, not a mourning. This is also the mark of the 'new year' This is when the veil btwn the two worlds is the thinnest,

Imbogc - Feb 2 - This is when we honor the Goddess and her recovery from giving birth to the God. This is when the earth is beginning its reawakening. The Festival Of Light.

Beltaine - April 30 or May 1- May day, celebrating the sacrid fire, the sexual union of the Goddess and the God.

Lughnasadh - August 1- Lugh, the sun god, the wedding feast, the first day of harvest. We give thanks to the spirit for the abundance of the earth.

Yule/Winter Solstice - Dec 21, 22 or as I celebrate it, 23 - The rebirth of the God as he he returns to bring warmth and firtility. Its customary to turn on all the lights in the house, and light many candles even if just for a short whial. This is the time of the Oak King.

Oestara/Spring Equinox - march 21 or 22 - Lady day the return of fertility to the earth.

Summer Solstice - june 21 or 22 - The Streanght of the God in all his glorey. This is when he reaches his peak and the Holly King wins the battle over the Oak King and he now rules.

Maybon - Fall Equnox - sept 21 or 22 - 2nd harvest.

equinoxes are days of imense power, universal balance. They are also days for reflection.
