Wisdome Txt The Instruction for Kagemni

It is thought to be related to the King Huni (end of 3rd dynasty)
[there are pieces missing]

I On descretion in Speech

---- the humble remain whole, and he that deals uprightly is praised;
the tent is ipened for the humble and he that is cautions in speech
has a broad ple, but the knife is sharp against him that strays from
the path----

II On Behavior At A Meal
If you sit with many people, hold the food in abhorance, even if you
desire it; it takes only a bief moment to master oneself, and it is
disgraceful to be greedy-----
A cup of water quenches the thirst, and if the mouth be full of.......
it strangthens the heart. A good thing takes the place of that which
is good (a simple but good dish suffices) just a little takes the
place of much. He is a miserable man that is greedy for his body.

(this one I think on a lot.... considdering that I live w/someone who
doesnt understand moderation, and for those who have never attended
one of my rituals, You will NEVER go hungrey and you will NOT thirst.
Esp for the 12 hr rituals... you take time durring the ritual to eat
and drink once an hr)

III Meal Time
If you sit with a greedy person, eat only when his meal is over and if
you sit with a drubkard, take only when his desire is satisfyed. Rage
not against the meanin the preasance of a ....; take when he gives to
you and refuse it not. THink, that softens him.

(of course this is assuming that 8 guardian, anscestoral spirits are
not drinking through you,,, turning you into a glutton for sake like
they are)

IV Strive to Obtain a Good Profession
[no text]

V Be Not Boastful
Be not boastful of they strength in the midst of those of thine own
age. Be on your guard against any withstanding you. One knows not what
may chance, what God does when he punishes.

VI Concluding Narrative
All that is in this book hear it as if I spoke it.

(this is probably the shortest wisedom text I have seen, but I havent
read Duauf yet... that is for another day.)
